In April, more than 1,000 lots of memorabilia from Neverland were planned for auction, but the sale was canceled after an agreement was reached between Jackson and Julien’s Auctions. Having recently turned 50 and about to embark on yet another tour, Jackson seemed intent on making yet another fashion statement. For his “This Is It” tour, set to start July 13, the pop icon had costumes created specially for him by Crystallized Swarovski Elements. Along with the sets, the ensembles would have featured more than 300,000 crystals in 43 sizes and 27 colors. As Nadja Swarovski, vice president of international communications for Swarovski, told WWD Wednesday: “As the King of Pop, it is only natural for him to be crowned in crystal.”

While I agree with the heart of the show - exploring beauty in different cultures - Jess and co. make it all seem artificial. Or maybe it's just her extensions. I'll have to watch an episode before making my final judgement. Who knows? I could wind up being impressed by Jess' level of knowledge and expertise.

Davies said the dress is designed to eventually be connected to the wearer's phone by Bluetooth wireless technology, so she can be alerted to a call even in the noisiest of places.

President of the CFDA, Diane von Furstenberg said,"There's a little (economic) crisis, but it just forces us to work harder".Tory Burch, winner for Accessory Design in 2008, said that riding through these times is about "a lot of learning and moving with the curves, being malleable enough to understand what's going on in the world."
Posen credited the reception of the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award by Anna Sui and the International Award by Marc Jacobs as "a testament to staying course, trusting your instincts and originality."
Jacobs, who received the International Award for his work at Louis Vuitton, said, "It's been a great year. Really bold, really rich, really wonderful. I've been really happy, with myself, my team, my partner. We've done great work and that's what has been really good."
First lady Michelle Obama received the CFDA's Board of Directors Special Tribute Award for "her support and commitment to American designers," a value at the heart of the CFDA structure. "The ingenuity and craftsmanship of American designers contributes so much to our economy and to our culture," she said in her taped acceptance speech. "To both legends and the future legends, I am honored to celebrate your craft with you tonight. Let's face it, not every season brings a fashion revolution.,summer 2009 is sure to be a lively time for fashion.
with a particularly tipsy economy looming above, Girlawhirl didn't expect anything radical to occur atsSummer 2009 New York Fashion Week. She was thinking more in terms of evolution, not revolution. In the end, she was overcome with the exuberant optimism played out on the runways, and taken in by the themes, colors and sometimes just plain kooky combinations.

Different from the wide legged silhouettes Girlawhirl saw on some runways, the Harem Pant is full through the hip and leg, but then is banded at the ankle. It's sure to be a new addition to wardrobes all over America because it's easy to wear without being over the top and will provide women with an option that falls somewhere in between pants and a skirt.

Girlawhirl recognizes what retailers refer to as a ‘key item' when she sees one, and for Spring and Summer '09, she's pretty sure the hottest key item of them all will be the jumpsuit.

Skinny pants are part of Girlawhirl's wardrobe regardless of the season; it's just a look that works for her. But forSummer '09, she'll have plenty of colorful cigarette pants to add to her closet.

If I showed up at work like this I think my co-workers would wonder why I was wearing every single piece of clothing I own! Wow. Talk about layers.

If you aren’t that daring, then this is probably more your style for the Fall season. All black! I like the flowy almost boho chicness of this top and the skinny jeans.

This runway was fab. I am seriously contemplating some type of fashion trip to Mexico to go to one of these stores. I wish they had a location in Monterrey. Then I could go to Monte de Obispo too. That place was beautiful. And check out that maxi dress on the right.
